Pittsburgh at St. Louis

Pittsburgh is 8-5 and only a game out of first place in the NL Central and the Pirates shut out the Cardinals 5-0 on Thursday as Connor Joe and Rodolfo Castro hit consecutive homers and St. Louis was held to six hits. The Cardinals are last in the division with a 5-8 record and they have lost five of seven home games and will face Johan Oviedo, who pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a 1-0 win over the White Sox on Sunday. The bullpen has been another bright spot for the Pirates, who are tied for the major league lead with six saves. Jake Woodford has made two starts for St. Louis and allowed nine runs on 13 hits in only nine innings. Pittsburgh has won four of the past five meetings and the Cards have lost six of seven versus right-handed starters. Play the Pirates as a Max Play.
