Philadelphia at Washington

Trade deadline rumors are circulating around this Philadelphia team. They Phillies have played themselves out of contention, so they will look to cut loose from some contracts. That can't be healthy for a team psyche, taking on the Washington Nationals. The Nationals own the lead in the NL East, and have their next eight games at home as well as 18 of their next 24, so they should be poised to make a strong run. Washington is also 30-20 at home on the season. Philadelphia turns to Cliff Lee who has been battered since returning from the DL in his two starts back. Gio Gonzalez has had a lot of success vs. Philadelphia where he owns a career ERA of 2.48 against them. Lee is not what he once was, and the Phillies are just 1-6 in his last seven starts vs. a winning team.
