Philadelphia ended a four-game skid with an 8-3 victory on Tuesday as Bryce Harper homered in his first at-bat after missing five games. The Phillies improved to 18-11 on the road, scoring six times in the first inning, and getting two homers from Trea Turner. They have won nine straight against AL East teams and nine of their past 10 road games. Mick Abel will make his second start for the Phillies as Aaron Nola is out with an injury. Abel allowed no runs on five hits with nine strikeouts in six innings in his first start. He has a 2.21 ERA in 57 innings in Triple-A this year. Toronto has lost four of Jose Berrios' past five starts and he gave up eight runs in 3 2/3 innings in his only appearance against the Phillies in 2024.
