Oakland hit five solo home runs, including two by Matt Chapman on Saturday, and beat the Rangers 8-3 to stay 2 1/2 games behind Houston in the AL West while Texas dropped to 41-76 in its miserable season. It won't get any better today as the Rangers are up against Sean Manaea, who has a .213 opponent batting average on the road while allowing only five home runs in 59 2/3 innings. Kolby Allard is 2-10 with a 4.93 ERA for Texas, and in three starts against the Athletics, he has given up 11 runs on 17 hits in 18 innings. Oakland hitters are batting a combined .306 versus Allard.
