This could be the night when Seattle clinches a postseason berth for the first time in 21 years while Oakland lost its 100th game of the season on Thursday. Crawford hit a walk-off RBI single to cap a two-run 11th inning and Mitch Haniger and Jarred Kelenic each hit two homers for Seattle. Logan Gilbert is 13-6 with a 3.29 ERA and the Mariners have won five of his last six starts and he has allowed just seven runs in 28 innings in September. Ken Waldichuk has made five starts for the Athletics and they have lost four of them and he owns a 7.15 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. Oakland is 12-40 in the first game of a series and it is 30-49 on the road this season and 7-21 the past 28 meetings with the Mariners, who have won 28 of 40 against teams with .400 or below winning percentages.
