I think if you had a chance to make a wager at the beginning of the season as to which of these teams would have the most wins, it would not have been on Oakland. The A's have beaten the odds all season long and their sweep of the Rangers put them in first place in the AL West for the first time the entire season. Then there is this fact. No team in baseball had a higher winning percentage than the Oakland A's against team's with a winning record at the time they played them. The A's are 50-38 vs. the best in baseball. Justin verlander is certainly a top pitcher, but the A's have beaten plenty of those this season. The A's have been lethal against righthanded pitching where they are 46-15 in their last 61 games. They have also won eight of the last ten started on the road by Parker. Destiny is calling, play on Oakland.
