New York at Washington

New York has scored more than five runs just once in its last ten games, averaging 3.2 runs a night over that stretch, and Cam Schlittler taking the mound this afternoon doesn't do Washington's offense any favors either. Schlittler is running a 2.01 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP this season, numbers that rank among the best in the game, posted against lineups considerably more dangerous than the one he's staring down today. Washington's bats have had a nice run lately, but Miles Mikolas is a shaky bet to keep pace with what Schlittler brings to the mound, an arm the Nationals have bounced between the rotation and long relief for much of the year because the results as a starter haven't been there. Rain is in the forecast for Washington today, with a real shot that it slows both lineups down before the pitching matchup even factors in.
