The New York Yankees will send their ace, Gerrit Cole, to the mound as they try to bounce back from Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Mets. Cole is 8-4 with a 2.66 ERA overall this season and 3-2 and 2.31 with a .194 opponent batting average at Yankee Stadium. He's up against Marcus Stroman, who comes off a rough outing at Philadelphia last Sunday when he allowed four runs on five hits in three innings. Stroman just came off the bereavement list following the death of his grandmother. Both teams have been sputtering lately, and the Mets have lost four of their last six games, and yesterday was their first game scoring more than four runs in nine games.
