New York at Detroit

Detroit has lost five of seven, although the Tigers did take two of three in an essential series at Kansas City. The Tigers still hold a substantial lead in the AL Central, but their lineup doesn't compare favorably to some of the stronger teams in the majors, including New York. Charlie Morton has been inconsistent since being acquired at the trade deadline by Detroit, and he allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings in a 7-6 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday. The Tigers' bullpen also has been shaky, especially since the All-Star break. Sean Manaea gave up two runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings as the Mets defeated the Phillies in his last outing. Manaea is 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA in seven career starts against the Tigers. Take the Mets.
