New York has won nine of 12 meetings against the Rockies, including six in a row on the road. Colorado has lost seven of its past eight home games and five straight overall. The Mets beat the Rockies 4-2 on Monday before yesterday's postponement. New York has won three of four as it scrambles to get back in contention. Colorado has allowed 38 runs during the losing streak and will start Mike Lorenzen, who has a 6.09 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP. He allowed four runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in the Rockies' 6-4 loss to Cincinnati on Thursday. Lorenzen's numbers are even worse at home, where he owns an 8.56 ERA and a .394 opponent batting average. Freddie Peralta has pitched better than his 1-3 record indicates with a 1.20 WHIP this season. Take the Mets.
