Minnesota at Oakland

If you're an Oakland A's fan, you have to start to wonder how much Scott Kazmir has left in the tank. Kazmir has not pitched more than 152 innings in any season since 2007, some seven years ago, and he is now at 135 innings for the season. Kazmir allowed 4 runs in his last outing, and he may be running out of gas at this point of the season. Minnesota enters this game 11 games under .500 and the simple short answer is a lack of quality pitching in their starting rotation. That comes with an exception. The Twins are 25-19 when Gibson or Hughes starts, and are 17 games under .500 otherwise. That certainly gives them a much stronger chance here than the odds would reflect. The better news is the fact that Minnesota has claimed victory in Gibson's last four road starts. The A's have tapered off a bit and are now 1-4 in their last five after a win.
