Milwaukee at Philadelphia

I opened this series backing Milwaukee's overall depth two nights ago, and Philadelphia broke a tied game open late, scoring three in the eighth to bury that pick. The equation flips for tonight's rubber game. Milwaukee clinched its division over a week ago and owns the best record in baseball as they prep for the postseason. Bryse Wilson is slated to start today, returning from a three-week stint on the IL. Philadelphia still has real stakes, fighting to lock down a playoff spot, and turns to Andrew Painter, who's pitched to a 3.88 ERA over his last ten starts since a midsummer recall from Triple-A, well ahead of the ugly season-long number next to his name. Philadelphia's high-leverage arms, including Jhoan Duran and his sub-2 ERA, got only light work Tuesday and sat out Wednesday, so they're rested if this one needs to be closed out late. Milwaukee's roster is the better one on paper, but paper isn't walking to the mound, and a full-season reliever making his first career start against a lineup still fighting for something is a mismatch this line hasn't fully priced in. Philadelphia wins this one going away, and it closes it out on the runline tonight.
