Washington is suffering from numerous injuries, including Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy. The Nationals have also lost seven of their last 12 games. A.J. Cole will make his eighth start, of which the Nationals have lost five and he gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings at Pittsburgh on Sunday. Cole is also appealing a suspension for throwing at Jung Ho Kang. Cole is 1-2 with a 5.09 ERA and has faced Miami once this season and gave up two runs and four hits in four innings. Andrew Cashner gave up a run on three hits in five innings against Atlanta in his last start and is facing Washington for the first time this season. The Marlins can still finish above .500 with a sweep of this series and the Nationals have just about wrapped up home-field advantage over the Dodgers. There is good value with the road underdog in this matchup, so play the Marlins.
