Miami at Washington

These are two teams going nowhere, but Miami has Sandy Alcantara on the mound and he has been one of the best pitchers in the majors this season with a 12-8 record and 2.43 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. He gave up two runs on eight hits in seven innings against Philadelphia on Tuesday and he has faced the Nationals three times this year and allowed only two runs on 15 hits in 23 innings. Washington has won two in a row for the first time since Sept. 4, but it still is 23-49 at home and the Nationals currently have the worst record in the majors. Anibal Sanchez has a 6.00 ERA at home and a 2-5 overall record on the season. The Marlins have won seven of the past nine meetings and they are 12-5 after losing the first two games of a series.
