Eury Pérez has been about as good as any pitcher in baseball lately, working to a 1.33 ERA and a WHIP under 0.70 across his last four starts, with 23 strikeouts against four walks in that stretch. He's allowed two earned runs total over his past ten innings. Gage Jump has pitched well for the Athletics this season too, but his last outing against the Dodgers pushed his ERA up nearly a full run, and Miami's lineup just got through torching this same Athletics pitching staff for 12 runs on Friday. I like getting a run and a half of cushion here even against a pitcher throwing this well, because Miami has been the side to back on the run line against a controlled AL arm like Jump's all year. The Marlins have won seven of their last ten and Pérez gives them length and control in an afternoon matchup that should stay tight into the middle innings. Play Miami on the run line this afternoon.
