Clayton Kershaw is making his sixth consecutive Opening Day start for Los Angeles as he comes off a season when the left-hander was 16-7, with a 2.13 ERA, and .194 opponent batting average. In three appearances against San Diego, Kershaw allowed just four runs in 16.1 innings, and he has a 2.29 ERA the last three seasons at Petco Park. Tyson Ross was 10-12 with a 3.26 ERA last year, but April has been his worst month the last three seasons with a 4-6 record and 4.02 ERA. The Dodgers have numerous injuries, but fortunately have acquired a lot of depth while the Padres are still in a quasi-rebuilding mode and lacking on offense. This is a reasonable price in this situation. Play the Dodgers.
