This is a tough spot for the L.A. Angels, 3,000 miles from home for their third straight road game. And they are in a funk, losing four in a row by a 22-8 count. They're also on a 4-11 skid. Starter Andrew Heaney has a losing record on the season and is terrible away from home at 0-3 with a 5.13 ERA in six road starts this season. The Angels are also 1-9 against a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. Boston is 26-12 at Fenway Park, off Tuesday's 9-1 rout of the Angels. The offense is second in runs scored and slugging, fourth in on-base percentage, while the pitching staff is sixth in team ERA. Red Sox starter Rick Porcello (9-3, 3.44 ERA) is back to his 2016 AL Cy Young Award form, off a 9-2 win over Minnesota while allowing one hit. His sinker is working, which is key in a small park like Fenway, holding batters to a .227 average at home in 2018. He blanked the Angels 9-0 when they met earlier in the season.
