I loaded up on Tampa Bay at two units Tuesday, and the Rays held on late to beat this same Athletics club and stay perfect at home in this series. Nothing about today's matchup should flip that script. Tampa Bay is 92-59 this season and has been even sharper at home, with the AL East locked up for a second straight year, and Drew Rasmussen takes the mound with one of the cleanest ERAs on a pitching staff that's carried this club all year. He's tied for eighth in the league in wins, and this lineup has given him plenty of support all season. The Athletics are 61-91 overall with one of the worst road records in the sport, and Jeffrey Springs hasn't found consistency in 2026, with a 5.93 ERA and more losses than almost any starter in the league. This is an elite home team throwing its best starter against a last-place club playing out the string with a shaky arm on the mound. The gap between these two rosters is as wide as any on the board today, and the price still asks for a number that treats this like a competitive game. It isn't one. Take the Rays as my MLB Game of the Week this afternoon.
