Las Vegas at Seattle

I had Seattle at two units in this same matchup last night, and it got away in a hurry: the Mariners built an early 3-0 lead before the Athletics answered with single runs across four different innings in a 7-4 comeback. That result is on the board, and it doesn't change the shape of tonight's rematch. Seattle is 5-3 against the A's this season and gets Logan Gilbert, who has been the definition of steady all year at 3.42 and has worked into the sixth inning or deeper in four of his last five starts. Kade Morris gets the start for the Athletics. Neither club is having a good season. Seattle sits under .500 at 66-75, and the Athletics are far worse at 55-86 with one of the league's worst road records, but the staff-wide gap is the separator here, not the win column. Gilbert gives Seattle length and stability that the Athletics' bullpen can't match once Morris exits, and last night's rally looks like the exception rather than the pattern. Seattle is the right side on the moneyline tonight, and I don't expect last night's collapse to repeat itself.
