Toronto defeated the Royals 6-2 on Friday night as Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit two home runs for the second game in a row. Eric Sogard belted a tiebreaking homer in the seventh and the Blue Jays won for the sixth time in the last eight meetings with Kansas City. It was the sixth loss in the last nine games for the Royals, who are in danger of falling into the AL Central cellar and they are 12-29 on the road this year and 16-39 the last 55 meetings at Toronto. Also, the Royals have lost their last eight Saturday games. Marcus Stroman comes off six shutout innings at Boston on Sunday and he allowed only four earned runs in his two previous appearances in 13 innings pitched. Homer Bailey owns a 5.04 road ERA this season and the Royals are 2-12 in the second game of a series. Play the Blue Jays.
