Kansas City has fallen into last place in the AL Central while losing six in a row following Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Cardinals. Alec Burleson hit a sacrifice fly in the first and an RBI single in the eighth for St. Louis, which improved to 27-18 this season. The Cardinals have won four of five overall and five of seven home games. The Royals are 6-17 on the road and will start Stephen Kolek, who has allowed eight runs on nine hits in 10 2/3 innings in two appearances this season. That gives him a 6.75 ERA. Andre Pallante allowed three runs on four hits in five innings as St. Louis beat the Athletics 6-4 on Tuesday. Kansas City's bullpen has been a weak spot with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP.
