WIN

Alright, we took it hard last night on this pick. How can I pick Seattle strong again? Whenever I lose a pick, especially a big one, I analyze what went wrong. I look back to figure out how I could have avoided the mistake. Well, last night's pick came down to this mistake: underestimating the impact of the favored hand of the starting pitchers. While history and the numbers overwhelmingly favored Seattle to win easily, the fact that both teams faced left-handed starters did us in. See, KC is awful offensively but they perform slightly better than normal vs. lefties. And, Seattle is actually very weak against left-handed starters. The result was the improbable road win for KC as they were able to put up 9 runs despite averaging 3.1 on the road on the season. Seattle could only manage 4 runs - below their average but about on-par for their performance vs. lefties. So, my bad there. Tonight we don't face that same problem. So that disappears and all of the other numerous and overwhelming reasons remain for taking Seattle. As an added incentive we have the Seattle loss last night going for us as they should be focused tonight. And, we get Gil Meche (2.45 home ERA) on the mound. Let's not forget that before last night, KC had scored just one run in 28 innings. With right handed starters back on the mound, I expect things to return to normal today and Seattle to beat the league's second-worst road team with ease.
