Kansas City at Seattle

At 56-70 on the season, the Kansas City Royals are going nowhere. Like a lot of poor teams, this club has had its moments, and it is very revealing. If you look at their sequence over their last 70 games it is quite revealing. They started by going 8-29 and recovered to go 8-1 in their next nine games. That was followed by a 4-11 stretch over their next 15 games, and they recovered to go 7-1 in their next eight. Now they have lost two straight, and losing seems to beget losing for this team. Seattle needs wins, and certainly will be looking hard for one here at home as the Mariners are still within striking distance of a playoff spot, and the Royals appear ripe here.
