The Yankees' offense has been problematic all season. Last night manager Joe Girardi chose to rest three starters, and it further hampered the lineup. They will be at full strength tonight behind ace C.C. Sabathia. Sabathia has been 100-47 as a home favorite, and that improves to 51-20 when he faces a team in this role that is under .500 for the season. James Shields deserves a better fate at 3-6 with an ERA of 3.32. The problem he faces here is one of familiarity, and lack of success, as the Bronx Bombers have attacked him hard. Shields owns a 7-15 career mark and a 4.48 ERA vs. the Bombers. Shields has been vulnerable to the long ball, serving up 22 a year ago, and 18 already this season. That's not a good formula with the short porch in right here. Take the Yankees.
