Kansas City at Los Angeles

Daniel Lynch IV has been one of the better stories in Kansas City's rotation this year, with a 2.45 ERA that ranks among the stingiest marks in the league, and he faces a Dodgers lineup that leads the National League in batting average. That's a real clash, and it favors the pitcher. Los Angeles has actually cooled off lately too, just 3-7 in its last ten games despite still owning the best record in baseball, evidence that this offense isn't running through everybody the way its overall numbers suggest. On the other side, Eric Lauer's 4.89 ERA isn't overpowering, but Kansas City's lineup has managed only 497 runs this season, one of the emptier attacks in the league and one riding a three-game losing streak. Neither offense figures to feast tonight: Lynch should keep a slumping Dodgers lineup honest, and Kansas City's own bats haven't given anybody a reason to expect fireworks. The UNDER is the play.
