Kansas City at Detroit

The Kansas City Royals have a great bullpen and the starters are pretty good as well. So what do they do before the trade deadline? They go out and pick up a top-of-the-rotation starter in Johnny Cueto. The Royals have deep pitching now, and while they may be a bat shy in the lineup, this is becoming the team to beat in the AL. Detroit has fallen fast. Anibal Sanchez has given them a lot of innings, and the results have been rather mixed, some good, and some bad, but the ceiling remains high. The Royals have pitched their way to the top of the AL Central, and in their last 21 division games, just four have topped the total. The Tigers have managed to make it over the top of the total just twice in their last 10 games vs. a right-handed starter. Sanchez has pitched to a 7-2 mark to the UNDER in his last nine starts vs. the Royals, and each of the last four in this series have stayed UNDER the total. The UNDER gets the call in this one.
