Detroit has won the past six meetings dating to last season, and the Tigers will go for the series sweep today following a 3-1 victory on Saturday for their sixth UNDER in eight games. Detroit has been getting exceptional pitching as it has allowed only 2.63 runs in that span, and Kansas City is scoring just 2.86 runs per game this season. The Tigers won on a three-run homer by suddenly red-hot Spencer Torkelson, and the bullpen came through again with two scoreless innings to save the game for Casey Mize. Today it is Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal on the mound, and he has not allowed a run his past two outings while giving up eight hits with 15 strikeouts. Kansas City has lost six in a row and it is playing its 10th consecutive road game. The Royals are 7-3 UNDER their past 10 games while scoring more than three runs once in that span.
