Things were expected to improve in Seattle, but the Mariners have just not been able to get anything going. Through 45 games, the M's are a woeful 18-27, and the season is getting away from them quickly. The Mariners have just one win in their last seven games as the unreliable pitching has allowed 50 runs in those seven games, or better than seven per contest. The Astros send Justin Verlander to the mound, and runs have been most difficult to come by when he takes the mound. It is not a recipe to win, going against a pitcher that is likely going to shut you down while your pitching has allowed better than seven runs a game over the last week. Make the play on Houston.
