These teams are certainly playing at a higher level than anyone expected. The Astros lost 106 games a year ago while the Pirates lost 90+ which has been typical of them for over a decade now. So which team here is the fraud? All evidence points to Houston, while the Pirates were 51-44 before injuries struck a year ago, and their lack of depth caused them to pay the price. They have added Eric Bedard to what is now a solid rotation, but they don't hit a lot and neither do the Astros, and last night was proof with a 1-0 Pirates’ win. J.A. Happ was supposed to become Roy Oswalt for the Astros, but with an ERA of over 5, that has not happened. The Stros struggle on the road and the Pirates should muster enough offense vs. a suspect pitcher to win another low-scoring game at home. Play on Pittsburgh and the UNDER.
