Houston has opened up a 7 1/2 game lead in the AL West as the Astros won their fifth in a row 10-3 over the Royals on Friday night and Yordan Alvarez hit a two-run homer plus two singles. The Astros also are getting great pitching as they have allowed only 10 runs during the winning streak. Luis Garcia will today's game and he gave up just a run on four hits in six innings in Houston's 2-1 victory over Seattle on Sunday. Garcia has allowed only six earned runs in 25 innings on the road this season for a 2.16 ERA and he has given up more than three earned runs only once in nine starts this year. The Astros have the top bullpen in ERA in the majors and tied for second in WHIP. Houston is 20-12 on the road and last-place Kansas City is 8-16 at home.
