Detroit at St. Louis

Detroit has a chance to finish in second place in the AL Central and that would be a major accomplishment for a team that has been rebuilding the last four years. The Tigers won again last night as Miguel Cabrera and Robbie Grossman hit back-to-back homers in the third inning, and they hung on to win 4-3 for their third victory in four games. St. Louis has lost five of seven and are 4 1/2 games out of a Wild Card spot. Detroit has won all three meetings this season and has Tarik Skubal starting tonight. He is coming off three great outings while allowing only two runs on 16 hits in 17 2/3 innings. Jon Lester is not having one of his better seasons with a 4-6 record and 5.46 ERA, and he's given up 16 runs in 20 1/3 innings since coming over from Washington. The Cardinals are 4-14 their past 18 interleague home games against left-handed starters. Take the Tigers.
