WIN

Perhaps the two most underachieving teams in the AL go at it tonight, as if the playoffs started today, neither team would make it. Tigers send their ace, Justin Verlander up against the Angels. Things have been a bit choppy for Justin Verlander this season. He went on a nice run that saw the Tigers go 7-1 in an eight-start stretch, but otherwise they are 10-10 in his other 20 starts. That is certainly not the automatic win status he has achieved prior to this season, and his road ERA is over 2 full runs higher than what is has been at home. After winning a career-high 16 games a year ago, C.J. Wilson has struggled, but has looked much more like the pitcher of a year ago recently with the Angels winning his last three starts. He has had one bad stretch where the Halo's went 1-7, but is 16-4 in his other 20 starts this season. The Tigers are now 0-5 in Verlander's last five road starts as a favorite of -110 to -150. The Angels have been the hot team down the stretch at 13-3 in their last 16. Play on the Angels.
