Detroit at Kansas City

Don't look for the Royals to sweep the Tigers in this series finale. Royals starter Noah Cameron is not in good form. This is a bullpen game for Detroit, but it sets up well. Brenan Hanifee will start for the Tigers. He has yet to allow an earned run in 6.2 innings this season. He threw three scoreless innings against the Red Sox in his last appearance five days ago. Because Ty Madden was able to work six innings in relief yesterday, the Tigers have their top relievers fresh. That means potential multiple innings from Kyle Finnegan, who has a 1.53 ERA, and closer Kenley Jansen. Kansas City ranks 23rd in runs. Cameron, whose start was pushed back after being scratched earlier in the week because of a bad back, has not been able to follow through on a very good rookie season last year when he had a 2.99 ERA. He has a 5.40 ERA and 1.61 ratio in six starts this year as his command has not been there. Cameron has allowed 17 earned runs in his last four outings, spanning 21 innings. Take the Tigers.
