Detroit fell to 29-38 on the road and lost its seventh in 10 games. Luis Castillo has pitched better than his 7-14 record indicates, and he hasn't allowed more than three runs in 17 of his past 18 starts. Casey Mize gave up three runs on five hits in six innings against Minnesota on Monday, but he just finished his worst month since April.
