They finished a rather poor eight-game road trip where they finished just 2-6, but got a big jump start in the last game of the trip, taking down Clayton Kershaw. The Cubs are now on an eight-game homestand that started with a three-game sweep of the Twins, and the win here last night in the series opener vs. Detroit, has them at five straight wins. The Cubs' offense has produced 65 runs in their last seven games, or 9.2 per contest.
