Colorado at San Francisco

Colorado is headed toward one of the worst seasons in MLB history although it avoided becoming only the second team to lose at least 26 of its first 30 games since 1901 by defeating the Braves 2-1 on Wednesday. The Rockies can't get too giddy about that victory as they go on the road where they are 1-14 this season and San Francisco has won the past 10 meetings at home. Justin Verlander comes off two good outings allowing three runs on seven hits in 12 innings. Kyle Freeland was knocked around to the tune of six runs on 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings against Cincinnati on Friday. The Rockies have lost his past six starts and San Francisco is 7-1 its past eight games against starters with a WHIP of at least 1.30. Take the Giants.
