Colorado at Minnesota

Minnesota needed a tenth-inning walkoff to beat these Rockies last night. The Twins built a 7-0 lead, then surrendered eight straight Colorado runs in the eighth and ninth, lost the advantage, tied it with an infield hit in the ninth, and needed Royce Lewis to walk it off in extras. They won on the scoreboard. What they revealed is how exposed this pitching staff becomes once the bullpen takes over. Tonight, the Twins go to Mike Paredes, who made his major league debut less than a month ago and brings two career starts to the mound. Michael Lorenzen has had a rough year at 2-9 with a 7.11 ERA, and there's no dressing that up, but today's game is about which offense can apply pressure to a vulnerable pitching situation — and the Rockies showed last night they can score. Hunter Goodman launched his 22nd home run of the season in the ninth to give Colorado an 8-7 lead. They lost in extras, but they scored eight runs against one of the better starters in the American League. Minnesota's bullpen had a long night. At this price, the Rockies are worth backing. Go with Colorado.
