Colorado at Las Vegas

Kyle Freeland has given up at least four earned runs in each of his last four starts, and the season totals say this isn't a slump: a 7.81 ERA and 1.71 WHIP across 48 innings. Colorado is 26-44, the worst record in baseball, and they're carrying those numbers into a venue that's already produced a 29-run game this week at altitude. The Athletics come in swinging. They put up 15 home runs in three games against Milwaukee last week, backed it up with a 6-4 win in the opener of this series last night, and feature Nick Kurtz at the center of a lineup that has been one of the most dangerous in the American League. Joey Estes is fresh from Triple-A with question marks, but the spot he's been handed is about as clean as it gets for a recalled arm: Freeland and baseball's worst team. Side with the A's tonight.
