Cleveland at Detroit

The pitching-starved Detroit Tigers made a move before the trade deadline to bolster their rotation by adding Anibel Sanchez. Sanchez carries a 4.11 ERA and was greeted by American Leagues hitters for 5 runs in six innings in his Tigers debut, and doesn't appear to be much of an upgrade here. Justin Masterson has high-end stuff and is capable of a gem when he is on. He mastered the Tigers in his only appearance against them this year in a Tribe win. The Indians aren’t new to Sanchez, as they own a win against him in interleague play this season, and the Tribe has come to play in series openers where they are 23-9 in their last 32. The Tigers sure have been lethargic off a long road trip of seven days or more, coming home and going 0-9 in their last nine. Play on Cleveland.
