Cleveland at New York

Cleveland came in with one of the better records in the AL Central and has been a legitimate contender all spring. Tonight, the Guardians send Joey Cantillo to the Bronx, and his road splits are the entry point — Cantillo's surface ERA away from home looks passable, but the underlying metrics that filter out luck and sequencing put him much closer to four and a half when pitching on the road. The Yankees counter with Cam Schlittler, arguably the best story in the New York rotation this season: he has not allowed more than two earned runs in 10 of his 12 starts and averages nearly seven strikeouts per outing. New York's power lineup against a road left-hander with real underlying vulnerability is the setup the Yankees were built for.
