Cleveland at Detroit

Detroit is in danger of blowing a once 15-game lead over the Guardians as the Tigers' season-long undisciplined hitting finally is catching up to them. The Tigers have struggled against good pitching and they chase everything leading to plenty of strikeouts, including by Riley Greene, who will set the franchise record. Cleveland has won six in a row and it has won six of seven at Detroit. The Guardians have won their past five road games and Detroit has lost five of six home games against right-handed starters. The Tigers have lost 14 of 21 following Wednesday's 4-0 defeat when they totaled just four hits and struck out 13 times. Tanner Bibee threw a two-hit shutout in Cleveland's 4-0 win over the White Sox on Friday and he also pitched seven scoreless innings against the Tigers on May 22. Tarik Skubal gets the start for the Tigers, but he often has gotten little run support from his hitters. Take the Guardians on the run line.
