Cleveland starter Parker Messick is off to a great start with a 5-1 record and 2.35 ERA. But the home underdog Tigers are not getting enough respect here. They are 13-9 at home as opposed to 7-19 on the road and have much improved Keider Montero pitching. He has a 3.65 ERA and has allowed just one home run and two walks per nine innings. Montero faced Cleveland once before on July 8, 2024, when he threw 6.1 innings of three-hit shutout ball, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out four. The Guardians have the seventh-lowest batting average in the majors. Messick has seen the Tigers once before. That was during his final appearance last year. He lasted five innings while allowing four runs on six hits, including three home runs, and a walk. Riley Greene has been hot for the Tigers, having gotten at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games. Take the Tigers.
