Cleveland at Detroit

Cleveland has lost three in a row, and eight of its last ten, and the offense is the reason why: the Guardians rank 27th in the league in team batting average, a lineup that's been unable to string together innings against anybody. Detroit's group is more middle-of-the-road, sitting right around league average in scoring, but tonight's pitching matchup is what makes this total interesting. Foster Griffin has been excellent, with a 3.31 ERA that ranks among the better marks in the league, and he draws a Cleveland lineup that's given him every reason to attack the zone. Framber Valdez counters at a respectable 4.17 ERA for a Tigers staff that owns one of the best team ERAs in baseball.
