Cleveland at Boston

Cleveland dropped a nail-biter Wednesday, falling 1-0 to hand Boston a split of the series, and that is the kind of loss that looks worse on the scoreboard than it did on the mound. Ranger Suarez takes the ball for Boston tonight and has had a strong season by the numbers, but his own offense has managed exactly one run across the last two games of this set, and I am not laying a short price on a lineup that has gone cold at the worst possible time. Cleveland is piecing this one together with a matchup-built pitching plan instead of naming a conventional starter, and against a Boston attack that has already stalled, that flexibility plays better than the number gives it credit for. The informed money has leaned toward Cleveland through this finale even as the public ticket count sits the other way, and that kind of split usually means there is more room in this price than the raw records suggest. Boston has the better record on the season, but a record built over six months does not pitch tonight's game, and I like what I am getting on the underdog here. Cleveland is the right side on the moneyline tonight, and I do not expect this one to be all that close.
