Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
Friday 10/02 07:05 PM Eastern
1.5 units on Pittsburgh -250 (moneyline) (risk 1.5 to return 2.1) RESULT: WIN
It has been a very strong season for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but they still have one order of business. The Pirates hold a two-game lead for home field advantage in the NL Wild Card game, and the Cubs hold the tie breaker, so they need a win here to close the deal and have a couple of days to set the pitching rotation and bullpen. They certainly are poised to do so as the Reds send Keyvius Sampson to the mound. Sampson owns a very discouraging 6.46 ERA, and has failed to record a single win in each of his last eight starts on the season. He is also 0-2 vs. the Pirates with a 6.46 ERA this season. Francisco Liriano worked six scoreless innings vs. Cincinnati on September 9th, striking out 10 in the process, and gives the Pirates a gigantic edge on the hill at home. Take Pittsburgh.
