Neither the Oakland A's nor the Chicago White Sox are going to find themselves on the field come October. The Pale Hose dealt long time ace Chris Sale for prospects, and are looking to the future to become competitive. Mike Pelphrey was once a top prospect in the Mets organization, but never materialized, and has become a journeyman. He last put together a winning season all the way back in 2010. Oakland may be glad to see him on the mound. Pelphrey has been around for a long time, but has never beaten the A's, as he is 0-5 for his career against them. That is just the beginning of the bad news as the A's have averaged 7.2 runs per game when he starts against them, and his team has scored a total less than that combined in the five games.
