Chicago at Las Vegas

This should be a feel good game for A's rokie Daniel Gossett. He is less than two weeks off his first major league win. That game came against today's opponent, the Chicago White Sox. Gossett would have had  a clean six innings, if not for an error that allowed two unearned runs to score. After four straight years of James Shields' team winning 20 or more games, things have gone down hill. Last year Shields' team was 9-24 in his 33 starts, and he may be at the point of his career where his best work is behind him. Even during the height of his career, Shields is just 6-6 vs. the Pale Hose, with a 4.53 ERA. I think the A's find themselves in a great spot. Make the play on Oakland.
