The Oakland Athletics are a small market team that has some seasons where they do well with a short payroll and others where they don't. This season they have gone just 22-62. Bad teams tend to have line value, and the team they are facing today, the Chicago White Sox have been disappointing as well with a 36-48 record. The A's are in a good spot because they are a huge home dog, and facing a team with a winning percentage of less than .430. They have not been a home dog for this much vs a less than .430 team all season. The White Sox are just not deserving enough to be the first.
