While these teams were both in first place a year ago when they met for the first time in interleague play, both have struggled to meet those expectations this season. The Cubs had the top offense a year ago in the NL, but this season they are close to the bottom. Ryan Dempster has not been the same pitcher as he was a year ago and, even when he was pitching great last season, the White Sox had his number. Dempster made two starts against the Pale Hose, resulting in a 7.84 ERA. John Danks came out of a prolonged slump and allowed just a single run in his last start start vs the Cubs a year ago. Both offenses struggling, the matchup here favors the White Sox and I'll go with them on the runline.
