Chicago defeated the Mariners 6-5 on Tuesday on Kyle Schwarber's two-run home run in the eighth. The Cubs' win delivered Seattle's third loss in a row while giving up 33 runs in that span. Seattle is only 7-10 at home this season and the Mariners have cooled considerably, losing six of their last eight following a hot start. Jon Lester has allowed only five earned runs in four starts for a 2.37 ERA and Seattle hitters have a combined .215 batting average against him. Marco Gonzales is 5-0 and has been getting a lot of run support, but the Mariners are just 5-17 their last 22 interleague games and the Cubs are 61-29 in Lester's last 90 starts.
